It was in 1997 that I first stepped foot in an Adventist church. It was after my mother and I saw an advertisement for a Bible Prophecy Seminar. It was being held an hour from our house at the Honolulu Central Seventh-day Adventist Church. The speaker was Evangelist Leo Schreven (1961-2014). I was 14 years old at the time. Addicted to drugs, chasing the world, and not caring about anything but myself. My mother and I never previously went to church. I had no knowledge of the Bible and without a spiritual anchor, I was being carried away by the strong currents of sin. But when we stepped into that church, we had an encounter with the Truth, as it is in Jesus. In Jesus, I found an anchor for my soul! It all made so much sense. To make a long story short, after the meetings were finished, my mother and I were baptized and we began our journey of faith together.

Looking back, I never would have imagined that one day I would be preaching at that same church, behind that same pulpit, and baptizing people in that same baptistry. But this past April, the Lord put me in that exact spot. It was one of the most amazing meetings we’ve ever had. God brought me full circle! Each night the church was packed with souls from all over the island who were hungry for truth. Night after night, as I looked upon the faces of the people before me, I saw myself when I was 14 years old. Lost souls needing to hear that Jesus saves! With renewed conviction and Holy Spirit compassion, the message was declared with power and many decisions were made for Jesus. At the conclusion of the meeting over 60 people were baptized and rebaptized. One of which was Keoki Gandeza, a young local boy who sensed God’s calling to be an evangelist. He is now one of three new Associate
Evangelists for the Revelation of Hope Ministries. Since being baptized in April, Keoki has done two evangelistic meetings. One in Molokai & the other in Waianae, Hawaii. God has blessed him with gifts and influence to reach others with the message of Jesus.

God is raising up laborers to reap the harvest and finish the work. This is what we call “full circle evangelism” —each one reaches one and the population of heaven is increased! The hearer becomes a speaker. The receiver becomes a giver. The baptized becomes a baptizer. The transformed becomes a transformer. This is what God has done in my life. This is what He’s done in the life of Keoki. The next evangelist is yet to be found! Let us go and look for them!

“As the faithful, toilworn standard-bearers are offering up their lives for the truth’s sake, who will come forward to take their place? Will our young men accept the holy trust at the hands of their fathers? Are they preparing to fill the vacancies made by the death of the faithful?” (Acts of the Apostles p.507)
